The Music of the Hills

November 04, 2019

From Mozart and Tchaikovsky to the classic rock ‘n roll of the mid-century modern era, the Symphony of the Hills has been enchanting music lovers for years. Featuring creative and often eclectic selections from a myriad of genres, the Symphony is renowned for providing symphonic music performed to a high artistic standard throughout the seasons. Past seasons have included such selections as “Beethoven and Other Olympians,” “Chopin and Friends,” and “Out of This World: Music of the Cosmos. Rock ‘n Roll and romance were represented with “The Fabulous Fifties – from Romance to Rock and Roll,” which included 1950s TV show themes and popular radio songs of the day.

Of course, every holiday season has been celebrated with such seasonal performances as “In the Christmas Spirit, and “Peace on Earth, Peace,” which showcased the music of Holst, Rutter, Tchaikovsky, and Finzi. All the Symphony’s concerts are performed at Kerrville’s Cailloux Theater for the Performing Arts, which allows for both the performers and the attendees maximum enjoyment of the music in a sumptuous and world-class setting.
